Sheryl Wright, Vice President of Government Affairs

Sheryl Wright is Vice President of Government Affairs for Bridgepoint Education, a provider of innovative solutions that advance learning. In this role, Ms. Wright heads up the department, managing the relationships and advocacy with local, state and federal elected officials. Specifically, she manages all lobbying activities, grassroots engagement, dignitary outreach and BridgePAC, the company’s political action committee. 

Ms. Wright came to Bridgepoint Education in April 2009 after a 25-year career in corporate Government Affairs with Sprint Communications. At Sprint, she served in policy, regulatory, legislative and industry relations functions with her most recent position as the Vice President of Government Affairs. Prior to working at Sprint, Ms. Wright spent five years regulating public utilities on the staff of the Kansas Corporation Commission (PUC).

Just as Bridgepoint Education is committed to being an active participant in the communities it serves, Ms. Wright is involved with numerous local organizations. She serves on the boards of LEAD San Diego, San Diego County Taxpayers Association, Downtown San Diego Partnership, The San Diego Chamber of Commerce’s PAC board and the Public Affairs Council. She also serves on the San Diego Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee. She is a 2010 “Influence” graduate of LEAD San Diego.

Ms. Wright earned her MBA from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas and her BA in business administration, graduating with honors from Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas.
