Elizabeth Aguiar, VP of Learning Resources

Beth Aguiar

Elizabeth Aguiar was appointed Vice President of Learning Resources in August 2008. Ms. Aguiar is responsible for shaping the financial structure and strategic direction of all academic content for Bridgepoint Education companies.

Her extensive experience in the for-profit higher education industry spans more than 25 years, and includes expertise in content strategy, sourcing, pricing, distribution and management, across a variety of academic and training environments.

Ms. Aguiar joins Bridgepoint from ED MAP, where she served as Vice President of Business Solutions. Prior to that, Ms. Aguiar worked for the Apollo Group/University of Phoenix, most recently as Vice President of Apollo Publishing and Learning Technologies.

Among other accomplishments, in 2005, Ms. Aguiar won the “Outstanding Work Award” from the Western Cooperative of Educational Telecommunications for her creation of an all-inclusive University of Phoenix eBook collection. She also developed the sourcing and cost model for digital learning materials for the Apollo Group’s rEsource portal, an award-winning collection of digital media that now serves more than 300,000 students.

Ms. Aguiar earned an M.A. in Russian Area Studies from George Washington University’s Institute for Sino-Soviet Studies, Washington, D.C., and a B.A. in Russian Language and Linguistics from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.

She is an active member of the American Society of Training and Development and a former member of Greater Arizona E-Learning.
